Don’t Under-Estimate the Value of a Sport Coat

A great fitting sport coat in a casual ensemble instantly elevates your stature and perceived status.  The sport coat itself doesn’t have to be dressy, the fabric can be more relaxed, like this brushed cotton blazer from Frank Stella Clothiers. What matter is that the cut is stream lined with your body.

It always works with a dress shirt, but why stop there, some other options are-

A henley, perhaps add a tailored or knit vest if you feel comfortable rocking it.

A good T shirt, we’re not talking Ed Hardy or Hanes here.

A variety of knits, v-neck, cardigan, zip front sweater, or cashmere hoodie.

Avoid thick/bulky sweaters underneath. Keep the knits thin or lightweight. V-necks beat out crew.

Mock turtlenecks are masculinity’s enemy.

In the spring and summer you can use the sport coat as a lightweight jacket. It just keeps giving, and giving.
