Fit Overview

Good fit is the foundation of good style, without it, nothing works. You can get away with almost any style transgression like a less than flattering color, dated print, tacky fabric, etc., if you’ve nailed the fit.

Fashion trends rely heavily on altering the silhouette from baggy to super skinny and every cut in between. Yet where ever we are as a society on that spectrum, it will never change that well tailored garments will always look appropriate where the over-sized leather jacket with extra shoulder pads can look silly once the fashion gods have lured the public appetite over to the side where trendy clothes fit as tight as sausage skin.

Good fit is both seen and felt, if you are not comfortable in it, it does not fit you well, don’t wear it.

Bagginess is casual styles arch nemesis,  instantly hijacking relaxed into sloppy, frumpy, lazy land.

Fit is affected by both the size and the cut of the garment. Please pardon the momentary reduction of the human race in to basic shapes but just as the hour glass shape is desirable on a women, the V shape is the desired silhouette of the man. Make clothing choices that accentuate your shoulders rather than hips or stomach (We’re looking at you horizontal stripe polo).
